The NEET 2025 exam is a national-level medical entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The National Testing Agency (NTA) began NEET 2025 registrations on 7 February 2025, and the last date to apply was March 7, 2025. The NEET 2025 exam was conducted on 4 May 2025 and was held offline (pen-and-paper mode) in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.Candidates must register online at neet.nta.nic.in.

The application fee is INR 1,700 for General/NRI candidates, INR 1,600 for General-EWS/OBC, and INR 1,000 for SC/ST/PwD. Payment can be made online through debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking.

The NEET Exam is required for admission to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, and BAMS across India. To be eligible, candidates must be at least 17 years old and have completed or are appearing for Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.

The exam consists of 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology) to be completed in 3 hours. Each correct answer scores +4 marks, while each wrong answer deducts one mark. There are no optional questions this year, and the paper is available in 13 languages.

NEET Exam Pattern 2025 

The NEET 2025 exam will be held offline in pen-and-paper mode for 3 hours. It will have 180 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). 

Unlike previous years, when there were 200 questions with 20 optional ones, this year all 180 questions are compulsory with no optional choices. This change means candidates must answer every question within the allotted time. This pattern returns to the pre-COVID format with a shorter duration and no sectional divisions

The NEET 2025 syllabus follows the NCERT curriculum for Class 11 and 12 and includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). There are no changes from the previous year’s syllabus.

• Physics: The syllabus covers fundamental concepts such as Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Properties of Solids and Liquids, Thermodynamics, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, and Experimental Skills.

• Chemistry: Chemistry topics include Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Chemical Thermodynamics, Solutions, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions and Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Classification of Elements and Periodicity, p-Block, d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, Purification and Characterisation of Organic Compounds, Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Organic Compounds containing Halogens, Oxygen, and Nitrogen, Biomolecules, and Principles related to Practical Chemistry.

• Biology: Biology is divided into Botany and Zoology. It covers Diversity of Living Organisms, Structural Organisation in Animals and Plants, Cell Structure and Function, Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology and Its Applications, and Ecology and Environment.

Candidates should thoroughly study all these topics from the NCERT textbooks, as the NEET exam questions are based mainly on this syllabus. It is important to cover both Class 11 and 12 topics to be well-prepared for the exam.

NEET 2025 Admit Card

The NEET 2025 admit card for the 2025-26 session was released on 01 May 2025 on the official NTA website (neet.nta.nic.in ). The admit card contains crucial information such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam center, date, and time. Students must carry the admit card and a valid photo ID to the examination center as it serves as identity proof.

NEET 2025 Exam Results

The NEET 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on 04 May 2025, and the results are to be announced on 14 June 2025. The NEET 2025 cutoff marks represent the minimum scores candidates must achieve to qualify for the exam and participate in the admission process for medical colleges across India. The official NEET 2025 cutoff will be released by the NTA along with the results, expected on June 14, 2025.
